Well...I never had any girls in church my age to go out with.I met my wife at camp and we have been married for 4.5 years.I like what we had at la. camp.yes...we were there for the social aspect....but we also had awesome moves of God....you CAN have both u know.hehe.But the getting treated like a sex fiend for wanting to hold hands would get old fast.To this day I feel awkward kissing my wife in public....wish I didnt...guess its all those ''Hangups''

As a brother who's 19- I couldn't be more grateful to be in the assembly I am in, and to have been able to go to a good camp last summer. In my assembly the guys and girls have their areas where they sit, and even the engaged couples (there are none right now) don't sit together, we think there should be some things that shouldn't be taken away from newly married couples, like getting to sit together for the first time in the assembly hall.
Also, at camp- if the preacher isn't making hookey jokes about guys and girls getting together, and if you separate the guys and girls, but don't make a federal case of it, they just know that's the way it's going to be, you don't have minds wandering. The brothers have a good time together, the sisters have a good time together, and you're at camp to get something from GOD and have NO distractions. You can get a wife at socials back home, where the focus is NOT supposed to be a week away from home, work, the distractions of modern living, and you can focus on service, fellowship and activities (which is what camp is supposed to be).
Why don't we raise the courting age to 20? Does anyone want to live holy anymore?
There was no social life back home! I lived out in the middle of nowhere.I believe that u need experiance interacting with the opposite sex....last time I checked babies dont come from holding hands"Cooties but not babies" and neither does sitting next to each other...."But Master Jedi u say...we need boundaries!" and I agree but the next logical step from holding hands is NOT sex!Maybe im different...i dunno.

Dude, you're scaring me.
It is not unholy to be attracted to the opposite sex.

Not everybody wants to wait until they go to Bible School to find a boyfriend or girlfriend.
We preach that our kids should not date/marry those who are unbelievers but we don't want them hanging out, or sitting with, or socializing with, or dating other believers at camp or at youth rallies?
I was 18 before I started dating....not cause I couldnt or didnt want to but because there was no one I wanted to date....believe it or not sex was not my goal in dating...I was just lonely.I wasnt good looking and confident"like I am now" hehe...age isnt always the best proof of maturity. Some people I know should be barred from dating into their thirties.Or better yet raise the age to where they are so old they cant remember why they wanted to date in the first place.lol

Maybe some cause and effect?

I probably shouldn't be the one to tell you this, but there are already some things that newly married couples have that seperates them

I'm just messing with you a little Bro. I can appreciate your stances and pray that God strengthens you.

I don't understand keeping the boys and girls separated. We want our boys to like girls and not other boys, right? I think things like this, plus NOT encouraging them to play sports, encourages effeminacy among Penteocostal young men! JMHO.

Oh by the way...on top of being from a church of 14 and being in the middle of nowhere did I mention I was home schooled?Yep,my social life was rockin lemme tell ya and we never had youth revivals and the girls in the church down the road were not dating material. So yes, youth camp was actually the highlight of my social life, such as it was.See,I actually DID live for God the best I could the rest of the year so I wasnt spending camp trying to be something I wasnt the rest of the year.
