Regarding divorce among apostolic couples. I suspect that in cases where Apostolic couples have gotten divorced, in most there was been a lack of joint prayer between them before it got to that point.

Not to oversimplify the issue of course, because obviously, breakups are often complex and multi-faceted issues..... but I tend to think that if a couple prays together every day, it should have an effect not only on their bond with the Lord as a couple, but also as a bond with each other.

I often hear Pastors and preachers encoraging us as saints to have a strong individual prayer life, but I dont get the sense that Pastors generally teach or counsel married couples to pray every day together. I'm guessing here, but I'm thinking maybe if more Pastors did this, there might be a dramatic drop in incidences of divorce in Apostolic churches. Your thoughts?

(By the way, I don't believe there's a high divorce rate in Apostolic churches. I have a feeling though that whatever level it is at right now could probably be lowered significantly if joint daily prayer among married couples were something that was emphasized more in Apostolic circles. )

Agreed. I think if both partners are trying to make the marriage work it's possible. Praying together can help both people open up to God and each other.

What about being a prayer warrior? If you are going to compare this with the sex thread, should prayer being a "fight mode" or should it be "tender and sincere?"

I'd have to nominate this as the Thread of the Year. When I was in the evangelistic ministry, the Lord would lead us to call ""Solemn Assemblies" from time to time. We would gather at a church and spend 7 days in prayer and fasting. The brothers would stay in the church for 7 days (or for as long as they could) to pray and, if they felt led, to fast. The intent was to stay before the Lord until we "heard" from heaven. God met us in incredible ways. Afterwards, we'd have a revival.
Great thread, Bro. France. While your intent may have been TIC, the need for prayer and seeking God makes this an important thread.
