Antipas, the writer gives us his speculation and builds his case later on in the article. He is very brief about the Roman date and Roman religion. Still he never proves that there wasn't any pagans who held Dec 25th as their date.
Go back and re-read it.

Benincasa, I never asked you to discredit what you read. I asked you to address the points made. Can you show conclusively that December 25th is exclusively pagan and that we shouldn't take dominion over it, using it to honor Christ?

Brother Blume, you have to read Antipas' article.

Well my sweet sugar cookies came out good. I must say I have enjoyed my first day on your chat site. Thank you all for your kindness and patience with this holinesswoman.
Evangelist Benicassa, you keep up the good fight. It's the little foxes that destroy the vineyard.

Bro. Benincasa, I'm of European ancestry, I see it as being a cultural holiday with cultural customs that have taken on a Christian significance. I'm not at war with my European cultural heretage. In fact, I fear that if you and liberals had their way, Americans with European ancestry would be void of cultural idenity. I'm a mixture of Dutch, Irish, English, and German. And I see no issue with honoring Christ in the cultural context I've inherited.
You never answered my questions....
Do you have a pulpit in your church?
Do you have a church building?
Do you preach a "sermon" as opposed to an open dialogue about the Scriptures?
Do you dress up for Church?
All are pagan practices that the early church denounced and were incorporated as the church was Romanized.

They come from a crazy loud mouth pagan god called "Cookie Monster" of the city called Sesame Street.

Saturnalia was celebrated from Dec 14th to Dec 24, followed by the Persian god Mithra's celebration on Dec 25th. They didn't pick these days to fit some unknown celebration conducted by first century Christians. We have no record of any pagans copying off early Christians. Please be my guest to offer more information that shows that pagans copied the early Christians as the date of Dec 25th. Your article writer never does that.

Re: We're Not Putting X-Mas Trees Up!
For the record, Jeremiah 10 is no grounds against a christmas tree. When Jeremiah wrote of taking a tree and decking it with gold and silver, it was speaking of plating carved statutes made of wood with gold and silver. Since the wooden idol was made from wood, and in reality, the only life it had was that of being a TREE, then Jeremiah used the term TREE. He did not mean people took whole trees that were uncarved and not limbed and garnished them with trinkets like people do with Christmas trees.
