It's the results of sin, and innocent life is affected-

But thank God we know the answer to the sin problem.

Baron,

The effects that drinking has on the lives of OTHERS proves the scriptures right. I'm not going to get into a debate about it, but I've seen families grieve because their loved ones were killed as a result of liquor. What you eat, you potentially do harm to yourself. Drinking leads to so many other things that destroys many souls. As a pastor's son, I've seen the abuse and shattered lives. No one can convince me otherwise. the proof is in the "pudding"

"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines."

That's what Emerson said about the fairness doctrine.

So, what you are saying is that "consistency is over rated"?

Exactly what is your point here - are you saying that since it was asked by someone on this thread for scripture for something that is preached that it is foolish? You just don't want to give the scripture because YOU KNOW that the same scripture proves our point.

You just seem hung up on it. And I like you. Enjoy your posts, though we are more often than not in agreement.

The way it is arbitrarily defined by anybody with an axe to grind, yes.

I'm driving to a point here, are you a pastor? Do you preach or teach in your local assembly?
