Yes I do think so... but others would disagree.

Only thing is I don't know what Rook is, so if you don't mind enlightening me?

Rook is a bidding card game.

So any Rook players out there?

Tomorrow PM is my family's Christmas get together.

Lots of people. Lots of food. Lots of Rook games!

Re: Growing Up Mennonite

I don't know the difference between Mennonite and Amish, but the Amish in Lawenceberg, Tenn are some fine folks. We went up there last year and stopped at one farm in particular. We all gathered around to talk to them. One Amish brother noticed my wife sitting in the car and inquired about her. He was told that she was not well. He said he would like to meet her. So... he came to the car and introduced himself and asked how she felt. He asked me about the prognosis. I told him, then he whistled very loudly. People came from everywhere. They gathered around my car, held my wifes hand and prayed for her in German. or Dutch. The most touching thing I ever saw. Of course, I cried like a baby. I have a deep respect for those Amish brothers and sisters.

In all those books I've read, I've never heard of Rook. This must be how you tell the real folks from the wanna-bes.

I LOVE to play Rook... My wife is not a big fan... bummer for me.

But, get this, she loves spades. I don't get that one.

I used to play Rook all the time online at games.com back when they had games like that.

Rook is a great game.

Like most denominations there are some friendly and some not-so-friendly groups of Amish and Mennonites.

I am glad they ministered to you and your wife in time of need.
