Renda, I do not believe we can change American society.
I do believe we can help families. (I'm being serious now)
As a pastor, most nouthetic counseling sessions I am involved in are a result of some sort of break down in the family.
Weak, unspiritual men.
Domineering, rebellious women.
Kids who can't deal with either.
It truly is troublesome.
I believe solid Bible teaching is the only thing we can do.

Ed,
I appreciate your answer and I have to say that I agree.
However, why not address the weak, nonspiritual men? Is that not the beginning of the problem?
In society, TV, etc. the man/dad is portrayed as some duffus - metro-man, sensitive man is the agenda.
I'm not being difficult, but honestly what made you start a thread directed toward the women instead of the man?

It's more fun that way?
I do believe we need to address the issue of weak, unspiritual men as well.
Want me to start another thread?

Re: 21st Century Plague: Domineering, Bossy Women
What if the husband would acknowledge his wife as the God given helpmeet,
someone to be of help to him, instead of the "the Bible says you are supposed
to submit to me", guilt trip, some use! Even using that at times when they are
themselves being unfaithful, on the side.
God said it was not good for a man to be alone, so HE made for him an helpmeet.
Someone that could be by his side and help him. God took out of man the part He
made woman of. How many men would say in word or action, "I don't really
need you. I can make it by myself". Vainly puffed up in pride. That can apply
to either male or female.
In the OT God gave man an helpmeet. Someone to help him. In the NT God
gives the Holy Spirit,"One called along side to help," both the husband and
his wife. "They two/twain shall be one flesh". Yet it is evident that without
Christ in them, they remain incomplete. You are complete in Him, who is the
Head of all principality and power. Every body whether it be a church, a marri-
age, a family, a man OR a woman, or otherwise. Without Christ we can do
nothing. For IN HIM we live and move and have our being.
Blessings,

If you want - it's left up to you, but honestly since the man is suppose to be the head of the woman it seems to me the problem starts there.

Within what context?
Marriage? most certainly, yes.

Re: 21st Century Plague: Domineering, Bossy Women
There is an old saying (maybe someone can let us know where it came from, was it Matthew Henry?) that says something like:
The woman came from man's rib,
not from his feet to be walked on,
not from his head to be superior,
but from his side to be equal,
under his arm to be protected,
and next to his heart to be loved.

Just exactly as it should be - - I wouldn't change a word of that!
I woman wants to be loved and protected............if she feels that she's all yours!

Look at it this way, at work my boss is my boss. But not all those with the title "boss" throughout the world are.
I believe this is what you are trying to ask when you say that "all" women are not the underlings of "all" men.
