I love your solution, Sis!....I agree. I hate to see women abused, humiliated, belittled, discriminated against, treated unfairly, or overlooked for advancement but God deliver us from those women who try to dominate, boss, manipulate and control the pastor and the church. Lord, help us all to be spared from them! Amen.

Amen, Sister. That "thar" meanness don't have much to do with gender. An ole timer once said mean people have mean hearts.

themselves being unfaithful, on the side.
God said it was not good for a man to be alone, so HE made for him an helpmeet.
Someone that could be by his side and help him. God took out of man the part He
made woman of. How many men would say in word or action, "I don't really
need you. I can make it by myself". Vainly puffed up in pride. That can apply
to either male or female.
In the OT God gave man an helpmeet. Someone to help him. In the NT God
gives the Holy Spirit,"One called along side to help," both the husband and
his wife. "They two/twain shall be one flesh". Yet it is evident that without
Christ in them, they remain incomplete. You are complete in Him, who is the
Head of all principality and power. Every body whether it be a church, a marri-
age, a family, a man OR a woman, or otherwise. Without Christ we can do
nothing. For IN HIM we live and move and have our being.
Blessings,

Its fitting that our good Sister Falla would post this here in the last days of 2008, for, if any post deserves the honor, this would be the "Post of the Year". When I think of Post of trhe Year, I think of posts that speak to and for everyone, both male and female. Posts who serve to help us find our places in the body, beit the Body of Christ, or the "body" of a relationship. This post does exactly that.
In our quest to try to decide who is the "head" of a church, an organization or a marriage, we trend to forget that Christ is the Head of His church. As members of that church we are submitted to Him. Our marriage is submitted to Him. Our husband and wife relationship is submitted to HIM. A relationship that is submitted to Christ is a biblical relationship. It is no longer about who is the head, who is the weaker. Its about allowing Christ to be the Head and Lord of all that we do. And when He is allowed to take His rightful position in our lives, we will have a husband/wife relationship that is biblical and spiritual, just as He intends. Our place, the place of our marriage, our church involvement, our day-to-day living, is hidden in Christ.
Thank you, Sis. Falla, for reminding us that in Christ there is no need to "jockey for position" as to who is stronger or weaker. He is the Great Equalizer that helps us to find our place...in Him.

However, why not address the weak, nonspiritual men? Is that not the beginning of the problem?
In society, TV, etc. the man/dad is portrayed as some duffus - metro-man, sensitive man is the agenda.
I'm not being difficult, but honestly what made you start a thread directed toward the women instead of the man?
|
Renda is right on target. While Eve and Jezebel are usually used as examples of domineering women, it is the weak men in these situations that allowed themselves to be dominated and manipulated. Isa 3:12 [As for] my people, children [are] their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause [thee] to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. How is it the verse here can be applied to this time and age? It is my opinion that this is because a good number of men do not understand their biblical role in the home, which is to be responsible to teach his children right, to love their wives, and to accept responsibilty for the provision for the household as Christ intended. And that word "provision" means a lot more than just being the "bread winner".
