His Great Commission is to baptize, make disciples and teach ... yet the focus here seems to be a momentary experience in a stadium ....

He spoke of POWER ... is there STAYING POWER in the experience that seems to be unique to his org? If so when will it double?

The crisis here is DISCIPLESHIP .... an issue throughout the BODY OF CHRIST

and I am almost sure that was the focus of this forum

Some of these people actually make it sound like the UPC and similar "3-stepper" churches are putting a BURDEN on people by preaching the essentiality of receiving the Holy Ghost. How ironic.

If the UPCI were to end up becoming a watered-down Pentecostal denomination like the AoG one day, a lot of these same people would think of that as being "progress".... even if it meant only about 20-25% the new believers would be getting filled and baptized, as it now is in the AoG.

Totally absurd, in my view.

As I see it, maybe some of these folks should just go form their own watered-down churches if they want to emulate the AoG so bad -- and just leave the rest of us alone over here.

The Holy Ghost is a promise, not a command.

If the Pentecostals and Charismatics could some how bridge this gap in scriptural understanding, then it would be a very good thing.

One thing is for sure, the Charismatics do not need to become legalistic to experience revival.

Neither do they have to become Oneness to experience a genuine revival from GOD ALMIGHTY!

I have a quick question if it is a promise or free gift only.....why are so many rejecting it. I want everything I can get from God myself.

If it is a promise why is God keeping it from so many............Just a question....truthhurts

Being filled with the "POWER" and 'DISCIPLESHIP" should work hand in hand. It takes both. No Power results in loss of disciples, no discipleship results in loss of power.

That's a good question to consider...

If they're just as saved and just as Pentecostal as we are, why arent they "receiving the promise" just as much as we are?

I have always wondered if these folks at these forums realize that the UPC teaches Baptism in the Holy Ghost as essential to the New Birth.

You can't compare the UPC with other denominations unless you make allowances for the huge differences.

No thats not what he is saying. But if there is a negative to be found and brought up on one org. then that org must point out faults with the other as justification.

My daughter does this by means of a favorite excuse line that goes like this: "But _______ does it !"
