He simply crosses what he is didagreement with, like I'll uphold the manual.
Cross that out and write in Bible.
As long as he encloses a check for the $$$$ it has notr been questioned.

What would it be ?
What all would the UPC have to do in order for you to be a member ?
How would you word the "Articles of Faith" ?

No. I don't think I could ever go back to the UPC no matter how many "rules" they changed and I'm not talking about "standards" either. My biggest problem with the UPC and the major reasons we left is the control from the leadership, the God-like status of the Pastor, and the fear they instill or brainwash people with. I don't believe these things will ever change in the UPC. I'd like to make note, that maybe these things are isolated to Oregon, but we also saw the same thing in Illinois last year.

In the famous words of SH.... "There you have it folks"!!!
From one who believes as ex-UPC and worships within the UPC.
This has always been funny to me, when I got my drivers license I signed a piece of paper saying I would obey the laws of the land. Well guess what, 22 yrs and 6 or 8 tickets later , here I am.
The change is happening, but this thread has proved by its post what I have said all along. It doesn't matter what the UPC does or if it changed to fit the scriptures as most see it. Sherri has stated that they would never return because God led them away and would not change HIS mind. So even though HE is God almighty, HE simply does not have the power to change the UPC. I mean we are above and beyond Gods help ?
I posted it on another thread and I will say it again. There are some here who care for the UPC in all honesty, and there are some whom cant seem to get that chip off their shoulder and maybe never will.

Yes, I am afraid they are. Sorry you fell into the wrong pockets. But me and freeatlast would love to have you, just as you are.

Scotty,
It has nothing to do with a "chip" on our shoulder and has everything to do with experience. There are a lot of analogies I could use, but they would be taken negatively. If you look at my "historical" thread, you will understand the the "odds" are extremely against a radical change/reformation as they are for most any organization. Most radical change occurs from a new org or group of people.
One of the most difficult things to do is to take an honest look at something and recognize the truth. I believe God can do anything and can beat any odds. However, I know what man does and has done.
Why do I even NEED an organization to accomplish God's plan? It's almost as if you believe that an org is more important than God Himself. I know you don't believe that, per se, but it almost sounds that way.

Scotty - - I hate you feel this way. Just because someone feels they are free from men that controlled them does not mean they HATE.
