That article reminded me of when we toppled the Taliban in Afghanistan and I read an article and saw photos of what the Afghan border crossing looked like between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The crossing shacks had nails all over them and hanging from those nails were streams of audio tape that had been ripped from cassette shells of confiscated tapes taken from vehicles crossing into Afghanistan. The Taliban did not allow any music into the country other than Islamic chanting. I thought to myself that this is what it might be like here if some Pentecostals had their way in American government!

You compare "some Pentecostals" (and it's pretty obvious who you are referring to, the old fuddy duddy "ultra-cons") to the Taliban, and you say "you don't hate anybody".

I think everone has a right to their convictions....be they con, mod or lib. However, as I was giving a little more thought to this thread, it hit what America would look like if conservative oneness pentecostals governed.

It would be more fractured than it is now.
Rhetoric against factions who were not like the ones in power would be vociferous!
There would be constant caucus meetings to argue over which "standard" was non-negotiable.
There would be split after split of the "party" due to disagreements among the constituency.

etc. etc. on and on...............

Thus the validity of TRUE (key word) separation of Church and state... regardless which church.... except maybe the Universalists or Carlton "Azusa" Pearson... it would result in a fractured and divided society with much persecution resulting from the perceived pure act of protecting truth; Regardless whose truth is being protected!!!
