Tentmakers
When I was younger we used to hear a lot about people who went to help Home Missionaries being called tentmakers. We don't seem to hear the term so much today, but there is still a need for people to help HM.
In the Rocky Mountain District there are several small churches that could really use help, our church being one of them.
If anybody knows someone that has a burden to do something like this, I would be glad to talk to them. In our part of the country work is still available, we have an unemployment rate of about 4% and things are pretty stable.
The newspaper I work for in Cody, Wyo has a need for a circulation manager and a web pressman. These are both decent paying jobs and I'm the one doing the hiring for the pressman job.
There are 2 local churches that need help. One is in Cody pastored by Bro. Michael Treadway and the other is in Powell, where I pastor about 20 miles away.
There are other opportunities in the Rocky Mountain District and I would be glad to help get information for anyone that is interested.

The way I was taught about the idea is that they work a job to help support the church and then do what they are qualified to do in the church - teach Sunday School, play music, pray, witness, teach Bible studies, etc.

Re: Tentmakers
We often use that term in Brazil however there is a group that call themselves tentmakers. Mostly they provide for themselves while helping a needy church. Very good plan.
I will be remembering your area in my prayers.

I love Wyoming! I lived there for two years as a little kid, so I don't remember that, but we went back to Casper every couple years to visit friends. Also Laramie, Cheyenne, Cody, etc. We used to go to the Cheyenne rodeo and sometimes ride horses up in Casper Mountain. It's such a beautiful place!
Sorry, I know that has nothing to do with this thread. I pray that God will send you able workers!!! When we lived there, there was no Jesus' name church so we attended an A/G in Casper.
