My purpose for this thread is for years I never really researched this out, just accepted it without much thought, but that was before I turned into Truthseeker. So now I would like to know what the scriptures realy say on the subject. I am asking questions as if against makeup to bring out as much info as possible.
When I was in my 20's/30's, I didn't need much makeup. Just a little powder, curled eyelashes, etc. In my 50's, I have some sunspots, wrinkles, etc. that need a little more help. I really don't even think about it as something God cares about one way or the other! I just think you have to be consistent. How can people preach against makeup, but allow suntanning, teeth whitening, braces, etc.? It's all the same.

my toddler daughter used to wipe her nose on my tie in church-does that count as a useful purpose?

I envy blue denim whales....they don't have to worry about buying new clothes...just wear denim skirts day in and day out

You know, you have a point about being consistent. Like if jewelry is wrong then why not fancy ties, colored shirts and pin stripe suits??

Or why can you wear diamonds on your fingers, but not in your ears or around your neck? Face it.........alot of it is traditions. That's ok, but people need to admit that it's tradition and not salvational.

Funny, we say a wedding ring is to say your married, but man some are really done up with rocks. Don't need diamonds to say your married.

My ears are not pierced; I just can't do it - it's a personal conviction. But I do wear earrings that clip on.
