And so far it has not helped the economy, so their solution? Spend more tax payer money.

I agree with you on this

Re: What do you think about the AIG bonuses?
This is Obama's style. He rants about issues to boost his popularity. remember they paid big bucks for him to win. Madoff was a large fundraiser also. Stirring up outrage is how he distracts from his agenda which really has not helped the economy.
today he is howling about food safety and a need to micromanage the food chain. That of course puts local organic farmers out of business because they use animal waste for fertilizer. They also have lower fuel shipping cost in the food.
If you all want to study them, all their strong regulations are loaded with contradiction.
If Obama really does what he says he will, every worker except union workers, will have his pay negotiated every pay day. If the brown suits think you make too much, they will decide what they want you to be paid.
By the way, how will Obama tax the socks off of these rich people if he wipes out their pay? Is anybody thinking here?

Re: What do you think about the AIG bonuses?
Does anyone know what percent the Feds have in AIG. I think it is close to 80%. If so, they can do what they please. Just as they could in any private corporation they have majority shares. This is not American either!

Wall Street gave Obama a billion dollars to win. We should be outraged. This total number approaches what Oprah drags in. More outrage.

Re: What do you think about the AIG bonuses?
While the Senate constructed the $787 billion stimulus last month, Dodd unexpectedly added an executive-compensation restriction to the bill. That amendment provides an “exception for contractually obligated bonuses agreed on before Feb. 11, 2009,” which exempts the very AIG bonuses Dodd and others are seeking to tax. The amendment is in the final version and is law.
Also, Sen. Dodd was AIG’s largest single recipient of campaign donations during the 2008 election cycle with $103,100, according to opensecrets.org.
Not the Dodd I knew.

Sen Dodd handled it. They donated 103,000 to him. They are working well together.
