If so do not soak his feet in hot water. It cuts circulation to the legs and feet. My cousin is an Endocrinologist; he told me this. Also Motrin or Ibuprofin helps with the swelling. I'll be praying for Bro. Alvear.
I've never given Ibuprofen products or NSAIDS for swelling that was not related to an inflammatory process. The edema can be caused by different reasons. If it is there simply because of bad circulation, I would check with a doctor about taking Ibuprofen for the swelling sake alone.

There are stockings that help with blood return (venous stasis) and swelling that Bro Alvear may want to try if he hasn't already. Jobst stockings.

Praying for these "beautiful" feet. I agree that the Scripture applies here!

But those with peripheral artery or venous disease should NOT wear them.
