A very astute observation for one who claims to have never even heard of MY! I would like to read that book "How to Become an Expert in an Instant" too.

That would really come in handy sometimes.

I have yet to see a situation in an Apostolic church, where the senior pastor doesn't make the final decision if there is disagreement! The younger pastor has freedom to make a lot of decisions, but an important decision can be trumped by the senior pastor!

I saw Myles at a PF Chang's in Nashville a few years ago. Does that count as "knowing him"??? LOL!!!

It was the Chang's in Cool Springs and he ended up dining there at the same time as a bunch of exUPCer's who had just left one of the evening services of the Christ Church Music Conference.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Sis A does seem like a wonderful lady. That's why I was not referring to her, but rather to Mr. Steinway's post. I'm sure she appreciates the compliments though. So, I think I'll leave the hardhat and bullet proof vest in the closet for now.

So NW Pastor, does your name mean
you are a pastor from the North West?
Or
Are you Nate Wilson's Pastor?
Or
Are you Not Willie a Pastor at all?

inquiring minds...

Students set silly little "goals" for the day, the week, and those "goals" on those little "goalsheets" were the basis for the homework if any. The punishment systems were on a demerit basis. Talk - demerit. Turn around - demerit. The uniforms were red/white/blue. Boys wore ties every day. Even the uniforms were designed by ACE. There was no direct contact with other students in the classroom. Need teacher's help? Put up a little flag and the teacher would come by. Teachers didn't actually "teach", they spent most of the day "monitoring" the students to ensure that they were still, quiet, and working. Still and quiet, sadly, were more important than "working" or quality of the work. The teachers were even called "monitors" in that program. Cross that with Church 4x a week and how in the world can that upbringing not be ultra, ultra conservative? In any case, although the (original) ACE system turned out lots of little robot soldiers, the actual quality of the education left much to be desired. Whoever designed that system was actually kind of sick. THAT is what fell apart but not before so, so many organizations fell for it hook, line, and sinker. After all, still and quiet can't be bad, right? ACE was about control.
Have you ever attended or visited an ACE school?

Re: *Myles Young's Departure from the UPC*

he is too busy defending islam to have done that , i dont know how he explains the command in the quran for all muslims to kill an infidel. is their an old quran and a new quran ? i think not! maybe that is why he moved to saudi arbia because he wanted to avoid that possibility? GOD said thou shalt not kill , mohhamed said kill everyone that is an infidel [non believer] i kinda think we should follow GODS advice, imagine how the world would be if we just followed that and thou shall not steal or covet thy neighbors wife ? if everyone just followed the ten commandments what would the world be like? almost heavenly!
