Terry Black's Church in Memphis

We had a missionary at our home church this weekend who is out of Terry Black's Church in Memphis. We are going on vacation this summer and are looking for churches to attend while traveling. How would this one be?

He was my first Pastor & the one who baptized me 26 years ago!
I would love to attend his Church for a visit!

The missionary was David Flowers from Malawi and South Africa. They spoke well of the Blacks. These were great folks.

Bro Terry Black's church would be a great one to visit.

I also know of a great one in Corinth MS, and Walnut MS along Hwy 72 if you are near those areas.

I could also tell you of a few you wouldn't want to visit, but I won't mention those on the forum. LOL

Thanks. I understand completely. We haven't finalized our route so I'll keep the Mississippi churches in mind. May get back to you for more details.

Good grief...either mama Flowers had a lot of boys or there are just coincidentally a lot of men with that last name

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
