Esther- The viewing portion of the contest ends today. Unless, something completely unexpected happens; Michael's video already has enough views to make it to the next round where it will be judged by the officials on its merit.

Tell Michael I said congrats on the great video and that I just recently bought a Kessler camera crane with the K-pod system and Hercules head! I have the extended ball option that I have my Satchler FSB-6 fluid head on and then one of my Sony V1U's on that.

Also tell him we are using a Glidecam 4000HD stabilizer with a Flycam 5000 arm and vest and love it.

Hoping to work in the budget next year to get a motorized pan tilt head for the Kessler crane and a Glidecam X-10 arm and vest for the 4000HD.

I watched it too, great job. Tell him to work on his voice-over, that's the only weak spot I see. As far as the rest, wow, great!! No better than USC too, I'll be looking out for his "Blockbuster" movies (when they come to DVD, I'm still UPC, hahahaha!)

INFO for those that care to know...

Well... when Michael wasn't notified about anything before the anticipated August 1st announcement; we were pretty confident he didn't win any of the prizes.

However, since August 1st has come and gone without any announcement at all, I now wonder if Right.org is a bust. After all (outside of this contest) who ever heard of them? And where would they get the funds to pay for their contest (obviously the contest was offering more funds than it took to put up the website).

But all is not lost. Michael has entered a couple of other contests. One is a Sallie Mae video contest. If he advances to the next level; he will need some votes.

The other is for DirectTV. Michael is being sent to China now (just before school starts) to get it made! 200 people came up with ideas for a commercial and Filmaka chose 20 ideas to fund. Michael's idea was chosen and he is being given $5000 to bring it to fruition where it will be judged against 19 other contestents also given $5000 each. Ten of these commercials will win prizes from $2500 to $15,000. There are lots of logistical unknowns with this Chineese commercial. Oh my!
