Re: Homestead Heritage

The search feature works pretty good. There have been numerous threads discussing HH.

Re: Homestead Heritage

Are they concerned or happy about him moving there? Where did he move from and what drew him there? Just curious.

Re: Homestead Heritage

I just remembered that you asked this question, yisraelm. Now that I have gotten to know what you believe, you might be interested in how people get baptized there.

I saw the thick book that someone trying to get baptized there had to sign. Not only is this book for baptism, but for those wanting to take communion. They don't take communion regularly, sometimes it is years between communion services. Some people that even grow up there are not allowed to be baptized until they are in their mid to upper 20's!

To get baptized they have to sign their name about 100 times to statements about what the church believes. They have to promise they will home school their kids, never leave that church body unless they find another church with "greater light" - and they don't know of another church with greater light, by the way. ;-) If they ever decide to leave, they are considered to be going to hell unless they come back.

Getting baptized is not on their profession that Jesus is lord of their life, but that they will always agree to everything the leadership comes up with in the future and all that their secret literature says now. (Enough literature to fill a few book cases I might add!) They have to come to a place where they believe that the leadership is Jesus in the flesh and that the secret writings are all true and to be followed.

When leaders deem members not worthy of taking communion, those members are not allowed to go to Sunday church meetings for months and possibly years. I am surprised that people are drawn to this place. Once they get people hooked, very few get away.

why not try bringing one of the older threads back up to the front page.

HH is an important dynamic to observe since all of us should be aware of the postives and negatives that are found in restrictive and tightly held communities with human goverance.

IMO, continuing one of the older threads with a lot of contribution would serve the reader better than always starting new.

Re: Homestead Heritage

If you want men to be your Jesus...make every decision for you...

I know NO OTHER JESUS NAME folks that are so far off the word....and maybe you could wade through the tangle of people that have been destroyed and make your decision.

I thought about not saying anything as many of the people inside are good people but brainwashed just like my JW friends...

It is scary and I do not wish to become involved...however the deeper you get into HH the tighter their ropes become around you and yours...to break away and speak up against wrong will cost you plenty...

I know...

For many years I have written on AFF long before it was AFF and most know I am not one to condemn or speak out against people...I have friends on the far extreme right and far extreme left...I love people...however to involve yourself with something that will not be up front with you and your family is dangerous. To attend a church where services are closed to the public is not a Biblical practice...To accept men as Jesus in the flesh is anti-christ.

I have many of their books and others that I know do also...you may live there years and not even know all they believe...

To the outsider that loves country life (I do) gardens, canning, woodwork etc it looks like a haven of rest...We were so interested we had them come to Brazil twice and took them to the Philippines with us but the longer we were around them the more our eyes were opened...

The voice of God depends on what they want it to say...

I could go on and on...

I have no bitterness towards them...however as a missionary of over 41 years and friends of many people in many organizations I say please stay away unless you want someone else besides Jesus to be your Lord and Savior.

Yes, go back to the older threads...and always remember all that shines is not GOLD...

This is nothing personally against anyone there let me repeat myself some of those people are the kindest, sweetest people I have ever known...however the system is cruel and a long ways from the teachings of our Lord...

and anything I have written is my personal opinion...I have tears streaming down my cheeks writing for I deeply love many of the people there...

Please forgive me but I know....
