I've seen changes for the better. It could be a location thing.

Re: My Name is on www.wedeclare.org
I would like to put in an additional comment before I continue with my day.
I like to post on this Forum, especially, because in the political room I don't have to deal with bad language like you do in other places.
On the Biblical end of posting - When I ask a question in the most patient wording I can muster and then I am called a worthless piece of swine meat - well...... LOL!
My thinking on that would be - I would be very excited to share truth with someone regardless of whether they agreed with me or not. I would feel compelled to share truth.
If someone, at the outset, lost their temper and had no patience with my questioning, I would not have a very good opinion of their character nor their doctrinal stance.
Just sayin'....

Well, I do wish someone would attempt to answer your well worded and very patient question.
Maybe once they return from GC they will.
Or not.

Don't hold your breath.

That within itself is pretty telling, huh?

I think that this country was on the same page on the modesty line - woman in dresses - for a very long time and I don't think, at least I didn't, see the need to look any closer at these scriptures - including I Tim 2:9 and others.
We've been evolving, well, since the beginning of time and I think it would behoove us to not stand and say - "I have all truth".
None of us have everything or know everything. As time moves on, the Lord opens our eyes and gives us greater and deeper understanding - if we allow it.
To be fearful of change is normal. I understand that. Once you open the gate, you are very hard pressed to close it again. To want to throw out things without time, thought and prayer is not good either.
Sometimes we can pray and not want to change, therefore, it's harder to hear the voice of God for our lives. I've been in prayer and cut the voice of God off because I did not like the way it was going. I think we could, if we were honest, agree that we have done that. It still went His way, but it was just a little more painful not to be on the same page, in the beginning. LOL!

I remember growing up believing that we had "THE Truth". It seems like that was drilled into my brain, but maybe that was just my intepretation of it. Anyway, years later, I had to repent for thinking that. The whole idea is so arrogant - that we have the truth - that means there is nothing else to learn. I don't ever want to get to that point in my mind again. And I don't blame anyone or any organization for that; it was my own foolishness.

Sherri,
When I was Catholic we thought that we had "all truth". Imagine my astonishment when my best friend, Church of Christ, in 7th grade told me that we worshiped idols! LOL!
What did my parents tell me? - They are like photographs to remind us. They are not idols. It made sense to me - at the time!!! My poor friend was lost - too sad!!! LOL!

It wasn't just you - - I thought that too. I actually thought only UPC people were going to heaven.
