Illegal immigration will always be a problem. We definately need some reforms. I don't fault people for yearning to be free. And so many risk life and limb to come here... I don't feel comfortable criminalizing them to the extent that most here want to.
I also think our more conservative brethren on this would feel perfectly happy turning American into a police state to weed out illegal immigrants.
There are those working for change, but change is often very slow. In the mean time we have people in desperate situations fleeing to our nation for refuge and a chance at life. It's the only life they have. Do you blame them?
Remember jfrog... we too were strangers in Egypt. Unless one is a Native American, I think we look bad if we complain about immigrants.
Sorry, but I disagree. I'm as Native American as the Indians are. I was born and raised here, and that makes me Native American, not an immigrant. I'm not a stranger in this country. It's MY country.
I'm proud to be an American, regardless of where my ancestors came from.

If a father of five risks his life to come here to keep his daughters from having to do the unthinkable to survive that's perfectly understandable. What would you do? Oh, I forgot, anti-immigration folks have all the answers... it would be so easy for you to live the lives these people lead wouldn't it?
The problem is... some of us are ungrateful for our freedom. So we feel no issues with denying it to someone else.
Chris, you act as if there's not a single person in America that faces the same problems as those in Mexico or any other country do. We have people losing homes they've lived in all their lives due to the falling economy, yet they aren't selling off their daughters to make ends meet.
I have a friend who lived in the same house for 20 years, her husband not only had his own business but also worked another job, she drove a Lincoln, and life was grand...except that his job as a surveyor was pretty much brought to a halt when the economy started failing. They not only lost their house, but their car and his business barely is surviving. Now they are renting.....something they've not done in the 23 years they've been married.
However, their 22 year old daughter hasn't once had to go sell herself to pay the bills. Their 18 year old son isn't dealing drugs because they feel he has no choice if they want to eat.
We trust that God takes care of us as He does the sparrow, but He can't take care of the Mexicans unless they come to America illegally? That's not denying someone freedom. If they want to come, come, but do it legally. It's no different than in any other country.

There was a story several years ago, about 25 or so, where a boy (I believe he was from Russia) visited here then refused to go home. He didn't like his country and wanted to get citizenship here. If I remember correctly, the American government helped him and his family get citizenship so they wouldn't have to go home. I believe the boy was only 12 at the time, and he told horrendous stories of his life under Russian rule. But we didn't send him and his family packing....we helped them. But they weren't here illegally...and they asked for help, not hid and worked under the table or became criminals instead.

You know what your problem is? You all should have told the boats to go back and not let the illegals from Spain and England land. My adopted bro in law is 100% Indian. He had issues with his identity until he grew up and married another native American. She witnessed to him and now both are active serving the Lord.
I doubt after the tower of babel, we will ever see a blended country. Even alaska where there is a lot of space, people keep separated.
Quote:
Alaska Natives are the indigenous peoples of Alaska. They include: Inupiat, Yupik, Aleut, Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian, Eyak, and a number of Northern Athabaskan cultures.

It is the liberals that are tuning America into a police state. The democrats are pro tyranny. Ayers, obama, frank marshal davis. Aquuila, when you knowck conservatives, you are deliberately blind to the liberal agenda.

Did your ancestors come here legally and attain citizenship legally? Or was it an open boarder free for all?
Maybe we all should be forced to endure the process of immigration unless we're Native Americans. lol

It's not so much that they face problems unlike many Americans, which as you well stated many Americans do face similar circumstances. However, as Americans we have far more opportunities to rectify those circumstances. We have opportunities in the midst of hardship that they don't.
