Re: TD Jakes on Larry King Tonight!
This is from pages 216-217 of “The Life and Ministry of Billy and Shirley Cole” copyright 2007. After telling the story of his life, he uses about 7 pages to list people he considers his heroes. In a section called My Heroes, he lists 19 men and women as “heroes.” He says, “I have had several heroes in my lifetime that deeply impacted me and greatly influenced my ministry.”
One of his heroes is T.D. Jakes. This is what he writes about him:
"Brother T.D. Jakes was a plumber and a preacher while he was in our fellowship in Charleston, West Virginia. It is phenomenal how he has become so influential today, so quickly. To the best of my knowledge, he has not compromised the message of the Oneness of God, water baptism in Jesus name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. We are proud that his children attended our church school, and that he and his wife were married in our church building. And we’re proud of the fact that his first three conferences were held in our church building. Some call him a compromiser, but in my opinion he is just full of wisdom regarding how to speak to people."

I agree with the quote.

He was on last night, unless it was a rerun. I saw it at 12:00 a.m. when I came in from work.

Exactly what I was thinking while I watched. Larger and more diverse audience, means the natural inclination to try hard not to offend.

I think it is wisdom, though. Trying not to offend but still sticking to one's conviction is wise.

Get ready, get ready, get ready, get ready.
I tried that once at our church and people just sat there and looked at me.

I didn't see the interview-- is that what he did?
I saw a clip just today of Larry King interviewing T. D. Jakes.
Was there a second interview?
