While, I readily admit to disagreeing with NOW in several areas, I do apologize for calling into question anyones personal character. That's not my place.
I apologize for that one comment, I stand firm in my posistion that Christian entertainment should be based on Phillipians 4:8 amongst other scriptures. I remain opposed to Christians finding entertainment in vampie movies, glorification and promotion of the gay lifestyles, and other vices of modern American culture, which appeal to the flesh, but not the Spirit.

I'm not calling your character into question, just your judgment of "the best singer ever on AI!"
I couldn't care less about Adam Lambert's sexuality, I just can't stand his singing, or should I say "screaming".
There were dozens of AI contestants better than him, in my humble opinion. Daughtry, Cook, Underwood, Studdard just to name a few.
In my opinion, Lambert has no versatility, he screams every single song with the same frantic spastic caterwauling.
Yes, I was sickened by his antics on the awards show (I would not have been watching, but we had a neighbor over making some valances for my wife and she wanted to watch it), I would much rather have watched Sunday Night Football!

Any one want to bet that Adam Lambert will be the biggest American idol so far? Surely he is going to be bigger than the guy that beat him. I already forgot his name. Chris something.

Just purposely don't listen - - you wouldn't have to pray for the flu.

Thanks Jason! We can now sit around a campfire, sing Kum ba Yah, and then start and into-tithing thread together!
Really though, I agree a lot with what you said. I know it's easy for "pentecostals" to look at people like me and figure we really do just let "anything go." But that is so far from the truth. For example, I really loved Adam's performances on AI. And I didn't like his performance on AMA. But when I saw the original unedited version on the internet, I stopped it within the first minute. No way I'm gonna watch that. I DO have an "off" button.
There are a lot of things that most pentecostals think nothing of but that I would never participate in. For example, overeating. I feel extremely dishonoring to God if I do that. Or a choir contest that's been celebrated here on the forum (yes I know some of you will say that's inconsistent with AI, but just think about it), or faking tongues in a joking way, or flippantly using references to the name of Jesus or the blood of Jesus, or destroying politicians instead of praying for them, or throwing an anti-abortion bumper-sticker in the face of someone who's life has been devastated by abortion.
Yes, I watch SNL but quite frequently fast-forward through some of the sketches because I don't wanna see some of that junk.
I think some of you make a mistake when you look at people like me and assume that we just live like the devil and let anything go. It's just not true.

While my musical tastes are obviously different, I have no problem with your opinion.

I figured you, or someone else, would pick SNL out of there. But why don't we talk about overeating. How often do you commit the sin of gulttony? How much do you plan on eating Thursday?
