We have nearly a hundred Macs at the school I am the IT guy for. Trust me. They DO crash and have major issues.

If XP is working and you have the applications you need, then there is nothing to fix (just make sure you keep up with the latest updates).

But Windows 7 really is nice. It's ability to detect and (correctly) install the right drivers is working the way it should have when XP first hit the streets.

Thank you, Randy. I appreciate that input. XP does work fine for me with the exception occasionally of a glitch in ProShow Producer. But that's only occasionally. It'll shut things down with no warning at all. Not the whole computer. Just that particular program. Geesh! But other than that, I have no complaints. So I suppose I'll leave well enough alone. Boy, I hate to say that cuz I LOVE to try the new things as they come out. Strange, eh?

With Apple it is "Steve Jobs way or the highway" nor do they have as stringent of requirements on 3rd party app developers. The second big issue/difference is that Windows has attempted to maintain compatibility from one version to another for years and years whereas Mac breaks comparability with almost every major release of the Mac OS.
In some ways the two mirror politics and freedom. With freedom comes more responsibility and a bit more turmoil from the lack thereof.
that "third party" issue is probably also why there were so many BSDs....especially when it came to drivers

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
