Re: Avatar

So did the theater (otherwise known as a "movie house" to those UC's out there) look like this?

Yes...it was kinda funny after the movie to see people walking out with those dumb things still on their heads. Honestly I think I can do without the effect just because I hate wearing those dumb glasses plus also they tend to "dim" whatever you are looking at

3D was interesting, but sort of a novelty I guess. At times it looks as though an object is floating about 1 foot from your face

Re: Avatar

I have seen quite a few 3D movies over the years. The first ever was Jaws 3D, mainly because we were actually at Sea World when they were filming it in the early 80's.

There is definitely a WOW! moment when the film starts, but after a half an hour or so you wish the movie had been made in 2D and could be enjoyed without the glasses (and yes, full brightness).

And in my humble opinion THIS film was the high point of 3D. They should have just stopped after this one.

Re: Avatar

Oh and if you get tired of the glasses you can't really take them off and watch the movie since it's all out of "phase"

STAY AWAY

IT promotes paganism, the only true god is Mother Earth.

And even has smoking, (according to the PG-13 rating guide)

Except they're not on Earth.... But, yes, there is certainly a new age slant.
