Re: Median Family Income

Well I'm just a 1 person family (it sounds sad when said that way, LOL), and so my income is way below the median..

But I don't feel poor! I think it was all those years with my ex-husband. I decided then that I might be poor (he was almost always out of work), but it didn't mean I had to live in poverty! I became quite frugal and learned how to make the most of every opportunity.

And I certainly don't feel like I'm deprived of anything. In fact, I think I appreciate things a lot more now. I have needed a new purse for over a year. My old one was completely falling apart. But I kept telling myself I could do without it. I got a beautiful purse for Christmas, and every time I look at it, I just light up because I love it so much, LOL.

Re: Median Family Income

Blessings to you Michlow.

I was raised in "poverty" according to the income of our family. However, we were never without food and clothing. We were always very industrious and lived on a farm.

The fact is - things are mostly what we make them. And as you say we too "learned how to make the most of every opportunity".

I hope 2010 proves to be good to you!
