Re: Grammar!

I know several people who say IDEAL instead of IDEA it makes me nuts.

Re: Grammar!

I think adding an "s" to the store name is about people being unsure whether it's supposed to be a possessive or not. For instance, "JCPenney" at various points in time officially went by "Penney's.". Now, it would be improper to have the s, bu I think that logic still exists in other instances where proper names are involved.

I shouldn't criticize anyone's grammar. I type so fast and read so fast that I never catch my own typing errors until later.

You are right. I do recall the "Penny's" name sticking. I still say the whole name - JC Penny.

My husband says"HEB's" because he knows it annoys me! For Christmas, I bought him a game to play while he's in the bathroom - Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader?" Now he sings the theme song and asks me - everyday - if I am smarter than a five grader. Not a 5th grader, but a five grader. I told my DIL that I wish he would stop. She said, "You know he's not going to!"

I'll send you my bill.

The funniest part is that I reread that before posting-twice! And I still didn't catch it!

LOL! I've read over old and current posts thinking - How in the world did you miss that? Stop typing and take a break!!!

After a while you don't really care. I correct other's spelling when I respond to a post and have their quote in my post. That is just in case they fix it in their post, it will already be fixed in mine. Besides, it does give me some satisfaction that I can read AND spell.
