I didn't know, but I looked it up and Wiki confirmed it was a contestant named Tamyra Gray from Season One.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamyra_Gray
"...In October 2005, Gray made her big screen supporting role debut in the independent film The Gospel, which debuted at No. 5 at the box office, and also had strong DVD sales when it was released to stores on January 3, 2006. Gray has one song, "Now Behold the Lamb", featured on the movie's soundtrack, which climbed to No. 1 on Billboard's Soundtrack Chart...."
Here she is on AI:

Hey now!!!!!!
Jaimee Paul is one of the top jazz singers in the nation right now! She was #4 on the jazz vocal charts last week.
Anyway....my wife felt like she should be pulling a cigarette out of her purse or something! She's not comfortable with this style of music in church!

Re: QUESTION:Anyone heard of this singer?? PLEASE
I hate this thread.
That is the Pentecost I grew up in, and it offends me to see it maligned.
Listen friends, never make fun of someone's worship. I was in the pulpit a few months back when the spirit of God moved on one of our young adults. He hit the floor in serious travail - bringing the whole service to a halt.
A teenager, who should have known better, mocked him openly. He (the teenager) was sitting in the back and didn't think I noticed his blasphemy but I did and for the first time in my ministry I pronounced judgment on someone, publicly.
Something about his laughter seemed profane, and the Holy Ghost compelled me to rebuke it. When I did, it got deathly quiet. The church had never heard me speak that way, and they were shocked.
I saw something enter that teenager during that service that was ugly, and it happened as he mocked. The judgment of the Lord was swift and sure, and it's the first time in my life I literally saw the judgment of God poured out in a physical, visual way.
I take this kind of stuff seriously.

I hate to admit, that while I enjoyed the version, it's uncomfortable for me, too. I'd listen to it in the car, but it isn't my choice for a church service. Still really good, though.

While the song above isn't my "cup of tea", The song posted below was also WRITTEN by the SAME woman from the original post; Linda Gibson Johnson. DRASTICALLY different in style. It shows she does have talent.

Me, too. I've been in countless services where the music was exactly like that, and there was (and is) NOTHING wrong with it.

I understand different tastes in music, but you're right--mocking someone's worship is a whole new ballgame.

This may not make sense to anyone else, but this is the verse I think about when I see someone worship God differently than others. It keeps me from wanting to say anything untoward about their worship.
Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God. Ps 50:23

I think this might open a door for a discussion on what, exactly, is "praise" and/or "worship." Some would suggest that almost "anything goes" as long as the participant sees it as worship. However, most all would agree that the Kentucky pentecostal culture, that to this day, brings snakes to church and plays with them, is not worship. So I believe we're allowed to express our opinion on what may, or may not, be worship.
And for me, what I'm watching in that video is not worship. Not at all.
