Re: Does Anyone Leave This World Perfect?
Does God condemn a believer that dies with cancer? Heart attack? Someone that commits suicide has a mental sicknes, how is that different than any other disease?
No one is "perfect" in the legalistic sense in this world. It is only when we see Jesus that we will finally "be like him".

You guys are great! You know why? You're saying what I wanted you to say. Good to hear from others that look at an issue much in the same way. Suicide is probably one of the most difficult means of death that families have to deal with. I try to be an encourager instead of a condemner.

Re: Does Anyone Leave This World Perfect?
This one hits close to home for me.
I lost one of my best friends to suicide in 2006.
It was one of the hardest things I've dealt with in my adult life.
I wish I'd known then what I know now.
'But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,'
God has neither stopped loving them or is finished with them.

So sorry for your loss Shawn, and sorry that I brought this subject up! You never know who has been touched by something like this. I don't think God wants us to sit in judgement, but stand in love and help hold those who are hurting with compassion. It seems to me that Apostolic & Pentecostals are too quick to proclaim judgement on such cases. Now I know that's a broad brush statement, but I have been around and know what I'm talking about in this matter.
Sometimes life's situations can change "our doctrine" so quick. Knew a preacher in Louisiana who was death on divorce and remarriage until his wife left him!!!!
God speed to you Shawn!

I don't believe suicide is sentence to hell for someone that was a believer, not living an unrepented life. One sin does not darn someone to heck

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

Probably wasn't a good conclusion on my part. That's who I've had the most dealing with on harsh judgements. Have you had similar responses from other denominations?
Regardless of the denomination, God has the final say! I want to be loving and not condemning!

Only the overcomers are promised eternal life.
7: He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. Rev. 2:7
Fight the good fight of faith. Be sure.

My thoughts exactly. God wraps his arms around and loves someone who is so desperatly hurting that ehy would end their pain in this way.
One might say that he person was not a Christian, if thats the case, then suicide is not the persons problem, the problem would lack of regeneration.
If Christians can get sick with physical illinesses, they are certainly suscptable to mental afflictions also. It is the mental affliction that ends the life just as physical affliction end lives.
In the end, God is much more merciful than his followers.
