I agree with you.
The Muslims I know would NEVER have purposely disrespected Jesus Christ-- though their false doctrine is a perpetual insult to the MIGHTY GOD IN CHRIST.

Re: Muslims Stand Up For Jesus
Truth is, no one would be banned from performing in America for degrading Jesus Christ.
I don't think that's a good thing.
However, I can see the other side of this argument too.
I am glad that America is NOT a THEOCRACY.

I know the issue is secular. However, the government of Egypt is influenced heavily by Islam, whereas Christianity does not have that sway here. And I am not saying we need a Dark Ages Christianity either, N.O.W., whew! Maybe churches should endorse homosexual singers, huh?
It was not because John is homosexual that he was banned, since he had this concert booked and is widely know to be homosexual. But it is because he made this statement about Jesus.

Right. That is what the article said. Either way, the headlines felt Muslims were making an outcry that focused on Jesus. Regardless of how misdirected their solution was, and all it implies about control, they were heard and the headlines noted their thoughts about Jesus. The church needs to be heard with the correct solution.

Yes, of course, Michael. Just because I think it's insane that the church should take a similar stance to a government that bans people they don't like, sure, go ahead and stretch it to me wanting to have churches endorse homosexual singers. Great connection, there.
But you do realize, don't you, that EVERY TIME we sing a song written by a gay, or have them sing, or buy their records, and everybody in the building knows they're gay, we ALREADY HAVE endorsed them!

Re: Muslims Stand Up For Jesus
N.O.W.
Put the shoe on the other foot. Just because I said Muslims stood up for Jesus, did not mean I condoned their misguided attempts as though I think we should be legalistic and likewise move governments to ban the likes as well. Talk about a great connection there.
They stood up, albeit erringly. We should stand up more the correct way. That was my point.

Most Islamic governments are influenced by Islam, but that is for a number of reasons. They really are not democracies. They are theocracies. They are Islamic governments. We do not have a Christian government.
christians Do try to influence the government here, but since this is no longer a Christian society and Christians gave up torture of heretics and terrorist acts centuries ago, we have no ability to force our government to stone gays to death or burn at the state anyone that dares speak against Jesus.
In fact it's partly because of our American freedoms that Christianity has been so strong and Oneness has emerged as a movement.
The comparison is unwarranted

As I thought I clarified, I am not condoning the manner Islam stood up, but the fact that they did, and how Christians needs to stand up more the correct way!

Again, how do we not stand up? Christians protest. They try to influence politics. What is left? Jihad?

Why would one think we have to protest in order to stand up fro the Lord? Why not consider making the name of Jesus known in ways other than protest?
There are many ways!
