Five Guys and Fries - A Review

At the behest and recommendation of Tamor and DA the sequel I tried "Five Guys" today.

The atmosphere- Rustic and minimalist. The speakers were blaring the AFF theme song (Highway to Hell by AC/DC). Noticed the free peanuts in a shell and felt at home.

The price- Comparable to Fuddrucker's, not as good a deal a Wendy's or Mel's in Tomball, but not out of line.

Burger- cons- the bun simply fell apart (HATE that), the beef was neither super juicy nor too dry. HOWEVER, the unlimited free condiments like grilled onions and mushrooms a definite plus.

Fries- Ok Dan, you got me on that one. Possibly the best fries in the galaxy. Fresh, natural cut, and cooked to perfect amount of crispness. If they ever get chili cheese fries, I will probably pass the 400lb mark in less than a year. LOL

Over all (and largely due to the french fries) a 9.5/10

I went to the one in the Dulles airport yesterday. I can dig it.

Cool, that one is closer (except I hate going down 1960). My wife and I have eaten at the one on Lake Conroe and it was nice, the bonus was they have a deck so you can sit out by the water. I liked it and will probably go back.

Did the airport location pile on the extras as well, Fritz?

Re: Five Guys and Fries - A Review

We have a few here in STL. The burgers are good...love the condiments. The fries are addicting...I mean truly, you could catch me sitting there eating all of them out of the bag...every last one of them. Therefore, I can't go there often

Perhaps its different up here, but really never noticed the music.

However, I always prefer to know where my potatoes are coming from.

The one at Brentwood has a deck outside too. The night we were there it was nice and we sat outside. Like that option too.
