It seems the marriage was on the rocks. That's the only case that needs to be made to find grounds for a divorce. And then, when the legal stuff finally drags out and is complete, both parties should be a bit wiser and just move on.
Instead, some party on the sidelines here felt that it would be "helpful" for the gentleman to "move on" if they all first dragged the ex through the mud. You can do it that way, I suppose, but it will cost ya around a half million dollars to get 'er done.

I've read through this thread. Don't ask me why! I have no idea why! LOL!
I'm not giving this woman a pass - not one iota. I don't really care what the pastor said or did. We are getting our eyes off the ball - the woman was dressed inappropriately in the presence of a man who was not her husband. End of story.
I asked my husband what he would do if he found me in that position. He said, "You would be in big trouble and yes, I would think you were committing adultery."

??? Seriously?
She stated that she never committed adultery while married to the man. I'm not sure why we should doubt her word. Especially since she was willing to go to court to clear her name.
'Found' is just a word that the news story used. Doesn't automatically mean he was shocked. He was more than likely upset about her wearing a bikini, but if he had thought she was having an affair, he would probably have said so since they were obviously looking for a reason to okay his marriage to the pastor's daughter.
Whether or not the woman should have been wearing a bikini is really completely irrelevant to this story. She was accused from the pulpit of committing fornication, which she denies. That's the story.

So, we are finding this to be acceptable dress in mixed company? Am I understanding that to be true? If so, I remember when we used to walk away from things, now it appears we are walking back to a place we, once, wanted to leave behind. The spiraling down of modesty. Who would have thunk? I should have stayed a Catholic. I could wear a bikini, get drunk and still be saved. I must be getting the raw end of the deal - ya think? LOL!

So are you saying that your refusal to get drunk and wear a bikini is what saves you?

Again the bikini story not fact ... as far as we can see.

With the score 1-0 AL ... the NL, based on their recent rash of ineptness .... might need you tonight.
And when you are done ... can I borrow it to use on Joe Buck.

I could win a lawsuit and lie my backside off. LOL! No, it's not irrelevant to the story. I'm just acting like I am her AND I would be in deep, deep trouble!
Either way, from all said, there is way too much speculation for any of us to be totally right in our assessment. One thing I do know, that woman simply needs to get dressed, stay dressed and get undressed only in front of her husband. I consider a bra and panties - undressed. That's what a bikini is.

The marriage was already over when the announcement was made. Had been for several months. You know, I find it very interesting that apparently no one had an issue with the fact that he was getting divorced-no need for a public announcement from the pulpit when they got separated, or when the divorce was finalized. Just when his daughter got "romantically involved" with the ex. So here is a Pentecostal church that supposedly stands against divorce, man has been a "blessing to the church" according to the pastor's statement, and there was no one concerned about the divorce-just about the interest in the pastors daughter?
