Peppermint Essential Oil will help settle the stomach!

Or peppermint in any form will help some.

Bro. Ben,
Lay off chocolate, tomato products and spicy foods. Don't eat late at night, especially
those listed.

Blessings,

Re: Acid reflux

My cardiologist's PA told me to take Prilosec (20 mg) every day. This is purchased "over the counter" without a prescription.

A doctor at the hospital emergency room told me to take two Prilosec tablets each day i.e. double the "over the counter" dose to bring it to prescription strength of 40 mg. I had gone to the emergency room for (because of --not in order to obtain) chest pains. The generic ingredient in Prilosec is omeprazole

This has helped. When I do get indigestion, which is not very often, I immediately chew 6 Gaviscon tablets and it is relieved quickly.

My pulmonary specialist has prescribed 30 mg lansoprazole daily instead of the 40 mg of Prilosec I was taking. Lansoprazole is the generic for Prevacid. 30 mg is the prescription strength and is supposed to be equivalent to 40 mg of Prilosec/omeprazole.

I've only been on the lansoprazole for two weeks so I don't know how well it will work but so far I have not had heartburn.

Re: Acid reflux

Try over the counter Pepcid. It works for me when I need it.

Re: Acid reflux

I wouldn't advise taking any type of medication. It will only mask the real symptom and does not heal you.

You can try several options as everyone is different. Eating an apple after every meal -it would be best to eat organic as they don't use pesticides, sip Chamomile tea, drink one or two glasses of water after eating to break up the stomach acid, chewing almonds in the morning or after a meal, some people are able to drink milk, two or three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar diluted in warm water - non-diluted if you have a bad case, chew sugarless gum (stimulates the saliva) for 30 minutes after eating.

Hope you feel better!
