The situation is this:
My landlord is an older gentleman but has never been one to be worried about someone breaking into the house.
When I was bout to leave I just felt the tension in the air. His son later told me that the gentleman I invited over said sometime to the effect of "you have a lot of money".
The next day my landlord put a dead bolt on his bedroom door. This kinda disturbs me.
So why was there tension in the air?
Was the a/c broken or something?
I say what caused the tension was the remark made by the young black man-- a young guy they did not know, who Prax probably did not forewarn them about.
There are several stereotypes prevalent among some folks.
1) Jews will laways attempt to argue you down, or "jew you down" on the price you set for your goods, and
2) Blacks will steal your goods everytime if you give them the chance.
Number 2 is the prejudice that is applicable here-- given what Prax has revealed about the situation.
