That isn't the point Coadie. He could burn a life sized image of Osama bin Laden. This man's actions might inflame hostilities and cost someone their lives. He needs more wisdom than this. We're not dealing with rational people.
We're dealing with Muslims that take their religion seriously.

Well, we don't read in our KJV that Jesus and/or His apostles burned Saul or Herod in effigy and to say that they did not would be the argument from silence we talk about here. But, one time James and John wanted to burn some unbelievers. That is recorded in Luke 9:51-56

In all seriousness, I'm afraid of this whack-a-loon is going to end up dead if he goes through with this. Salman Rushdie was in hiding for years for his book, "Satanic Verses". Either the Islamic extremists will get Jones, or people here in America passionate about U.S. Troops that could be harmed because of this. Either way, I don't think the 40 caliber pistol he's carrying will help him.

I've been away for a bit so maybe someone has descended to this rube's level. Dunno. But the two issues are clearly separate.

One the one hand we have the question of what types of buildings would be appropriate on the site where almost 3,000 innocent souls were slaughtered by Muslim terrorists.

On the other hand we have a lone nut case with a fake "doctorate" attempting to find some significance in his isolated existence by pulling off a misguided publicity stunt intended to offend as many people as possible.

Did anyone mention The Smoking Gun's posting of Jones' "Academy Rule Book?" Creepy.

And baffling to Muslims of good will. The problem as I see it is the media. What makes the media so adamant about promoting this "story" when there is so much other news that goes under reported?

What makes newsroom editors across the country say to themselves, "If I promote THIS story and make a lot of noise about it, American troops and lives will be endangered! So, that's what I gonna do!"

What makes them do that?
