And does the situational specifics matter? Some pastors use the "calling out" card for saints who leave their church regardless of the situation, them being bated or not.
I tend to agree with your depiction of the rod here while also fearing Christendom being nothing more than people clubbing each other to death.

Even if he or anyone was off in "false" doctrine a minister has no right telling anyone to stop going there. At least not publically. We are able to judge for ourselves whether the church we attend is where we should be going or not. If you (anyone) believes that the church is teaching "falsely" then it is incumbent on you (anyone) to get up and go.

I don't know, J TUL. I'm pretty sure if believers were following a leader that was preaching "another gospel," Paul would have spoken up.
A leader I know gave me his two cents on this. If you are the pastor (JK is) that is in community with these believers who are having pastors try to pull these away (for reasons that are adding to the Gospel), he has very right to denounce these men. If you are someone not involved, not in community with the men, then it's not your concern or business. Some would argue the evangelist had a right since he was connected to the church as one who ministers there frequently. This is a mess. But it leaves me asking/looking/searching for a biblical model to resolve this.

Good thoughts. IDK what the right way to go is. But I woulda have a hard time telling any one to leave any church. I am probably more liberal than some and I would never tell anyone to leave a ultra con church. That is not me. I would tell them, if they asked me, to use wisdom in their decision because there are a lot of people that it can affect, but the most important ones are their own family.

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Big deal. I heard there are people encouraging everyone to leave every UPC church.
