Computer Problem...

My computer has one really annoying problem. It randomly burps at me from time to time through the speakers. It's been doing this for a long time now. Any ideas on how to solve the problem?

Have you tried Pepto-Bismol?

Re: Computer Problem...

Gaviscon or over the counter Prevacid might help.

Could be a short, bad audio device or speakers

This link looks old so I don't know if it helps

Finally jfrog, somebody that knows what they're doing. I didn't think for awhile that you were going to get a civil response after my smart answer. There's always a Praxeas around to help out.

It's not popping though. It literally a burp or belch noise. I'm pretty sure shorts don't cause that.

Re: Computer Problem...

My netbook has a sound like that - it didn't do it until I loaded Skype on it.

I'll have to see when it does it next time I'm on Skype.

Hmmm. It could be the app itself or the app is trying to initialize something when it loads that causes the "burping" noise.

I do have to say that in all the years I worked at the help desk, I never had a call from someone complaining about a burping noise. Lots of other weird things, but not noise. However, these were bank computers for the most part so the sound systems were minimal (think tinny internal speakers) at best.

Re: Computer Problem...

Try disconnecting the speakers. Amputation can cure somethings.

If you still hear the burping sounds, let us know.
