It was not up to you're daughter to press charges, it waS you're duty and responcibility to press charges...I hope that when you're daughter come to herself, that she does not throw this in you're face...

If I'm wrong and it's true, he still kept silent and this "youth leader" is still active in the church...What if he becomes the next 47 year old and my daughter the 16 year old? I would be in jail, for punching the perv and those who knew he was a perv and allowed him to function.

Michael,
I apologize if I have lost your trust in anyway, I understand that things said online can be questionable at times. As I have said, many here who have been on this forum awhile know of my past and the issues I have faced. Most are documented here on this forum and I have discussed this on my radio program. As a matter of fact the death of my daughter and the issues that followed are well documented here from 2007. http://www.apostolicfriendsforum.com...ad.php?t=21885
I changed or omitted some information in the story on this thread so as not to reveal too much. Believe me, there is a part of me who would love nothing more than to reveal everything. Apparently you missed some points concerning the young man involved. He "was" a youth leader, but holds no position in the church now. He was employed by a church member but was fired after this come to light. This young man has since joined the military, is back home, married with a baby and has sought forgiveness from the church and one night during revival shortly after prayed through. As I have said, he is still a registered sex offender which will be on his record for a while. Most of the church are aware of the past situation and I'm sure he is under "supervision" by all. I really don't see how "my reputation" played into any of this as your trying to point out. After years of trying to get my then wife and daughter in the church this happened shortly after recieving the Holy Ghost and my wife lost all faith in the church and left me because I refused to stop going. She broad brushed all of religion for this. I myself went through a period staying out of church because of my anger and feelings of betrayal. I don't know what else to tell you but I will answer any questions you may have. If not here then I will answer you in PM.
Thanks,

He can correct me if I misread, but I don't believe his daughter went through with the meeting and that's why he refrained from telling the other parents about their daughters.

She did go through with the meeting. I refrained from telling the other parents because after telling the first parents I got the sense of they would take care of it in their own home without doing so openly. Sometime later I found out other parents were dealing with the situation in their homes also. So basicly no one wanted to bring their "family laundry" out for everyone to see, but me I guess.
For those of you who are an active part of my Facebook life I don't believe I have to tell you, but just incase. The daughter I have portrayed here is not one of my and Jessica's girls.

The linked news article says he claimed to police to be the girl's "boyfriend."
"On Sept. 7, police interviewed Monk and he admitted to being the girl’s “boyfriend,” according to court records. He also told police they had kissed and had sex on at least two occasions between April 30 and Sept. 1, according to court records."
Sounds like a confession to me.

In my humble opinion both are guilty. Somewhere I heard it said, "It takes two to tango!" Now this would not be true if it was a rape case, but to the best of my understanding this was not a rape case....

It does "take two to tango" however, if one partner is underage then the whole "dance" is illegal. I don't know what the age of consent laws are for Ohio ... wait a minute ....
Quote:
2907.04 Unlawful sexual conduct with minor.
(A) No person who is eighteen years of age or older shall engage in sexual conduct with another, who is not the spouse of the offender, when the offender knows the other person is thirteen years of age or older but less than sixteen years of age, or the offender is reckless in that regard. {§ 2907.04}.
|
I guess that's why they mentioned the following in the news article:
Quote:
|
Monk was not arrested until 11 days after his admissions, according to court records. Licking County Prosecutor Ken Oswalt said he needed documentation of Monk’s status as a cleric to charge him with sexual battery. Because of the girl’s age, Oswalt said, he could not charge Monk with any other felony and a misdemeanor charge wasn’t appropriate.
|
The girl apparently was not "less than 16 years of age" when the consensual sex was confessed to have occurred. The accused's status as a "minister" seems to be the aggravating factor.

Re: UPCI pastor resigns amid teen sex charges
It seems that they're going after him for violating this law:
http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2305.115
A "Mental Health professional" includes a "clergy" member who is "counseling" an individual.

The crime does hang on the very fact that he is a minister.
Imagine ... holding a man of the cloth to a higher standard.

Re: UPCI pastor resigns amid teen sex charges
When I got married in Ohio back in 1958
I was 20 and my wife was 16.
She's 3 and 1/2 years younger than I.
We both had to have legal approval from our parents.
My parents in Wisconsin had to travel about 15 miles to get approval from a judge.
