Re: GC in Houston and AFF
I do believe we were spoiled. People blink at $28 (+ a lot more) for just one night of some other Gospel groups - then complain about $75 for the entire Conference. Sounds like some just want to find fault.

I assume you are comparing going to a concert to General Conference. I would agree with you except that General conference isn't marketed like a concert is. There is a fundamental difference in why people are being told they should go to a concert compared to why they are being told they should go to general conference. The thing is, if general conference was marketed more as a social gathering and a place to meet friends while still being serious about God, then it would be much easier to justify whatever price tag is put on it. Instead it's marketed as a great church service and people have a problem paying for a church service, let alone 75 dollars for one.

Dude (Dudette) - I remember sitting through some of those offerings in the past. $75.00 is cheap just to get those guys to stop.

But, have they stopped even though people are paying out $75.00 admission for the show?

Yeah, for the most part. Of course not every offering is to pay the Conference expenses and the cost of renting out an arena and the booth areas. It is an expensive "show" to put on. Paying for that "show" will always require some ingenuity.

Re: GC in Houston and AFF
I know the cost of renting these places are exhortiant. That being said, I still think there needs to be a family rate.
For me, one person is not so bad, but for a family of 4 or more, that can be way more than they can afford.

At $75pp and four in my family doubt I will be attending it.
On the other hand it might be worth it as a cultural experience for my daughters.
