I'll be there, at least to the business part. Don't know if I'm gonna give them $25 just to watch them take up a 3 hour offering.

I was going to start a thread on this but does anyone know how they select the venues for General Conference?
I can't imagine they would choose places like Ohio and VA but not Colorado?
Does any particular state requesting consideration have to put on a dog and pony show to convince the monkey mucks?
Wouldn't it be a kick if GC would be scheduled in concurrance with the Demoncratic National Convention here (I know, I know the DNC is in August).

Ouch! A friend went to his first GC, and that was all he talked about when he got back...but then again, his wife says he needs to pray through...

However, I feel a leading to go this year.
The Conference that I attended before Milwaukee was the year before in Salt Lake City. I was in the business meeting when the "document from hell" was debated and ratified. Afterwards, the Milwaukee conference was a spiritual call to repentance... The Salt Lake City conference was a turning point for the UPCI, the Milwaukee conference was a strong call to repentance. She missed her best opportunity.
In my spirit, I feel that this upcoming conference will be another fork in the road for her. She will choose to take one or the other. Historically, with each dividing of the way, she has chosen to take the darker of the two ways.
I have carried a heavy burden for the UPCI in times past, having been devoutly loyal to every effort both locally and nationally since I was a child, but I now confess that burden has greatly slackened but my sadness has greatly increased.
Yes, I have plans on being there...probably in tears.
