I am glad most of our house is tile, it is the best thing (or vinyl flooring) if you're gonna have indoor pets., oh and no "fabric" furniture, ours are leather..although one cat did ruin our recliner with his claws.
Even when fixed some males will still be able to spray., one of ours does., its better to get them neutered while very young., if possible.
