BT, if people want to cast others in a bad light and issue their judgment, they'll find scriptures and use them even if they have to twist the heck out of them.
Bottom line is, the passage in
Matthew 7 is a directive to help us identify false prophets and teachers. Unfortunately, those who find themselves in the midst of a disagreement go running much too quickly to these words by Jesus and use them irresponsibly to condemn and judge others.
