Baptized 12 Today!
Today was a baptismal service at our church. We have been planning it for several months to coincide with the conclusion of a teaching series held mid week on what our church teaches and believes.
11 or 12 people were baptized today. I know 11 were scheduled to be baptized but unless I counted wrong I believe actually an even dozen were baptized in Jesus name so maybe had one latecomer.
Probably 10 of the 12 were between the ages of 18-30 years old. So good to see young adults making a commitment to identify and walk with the Lord.
Before someone asks our church will baptize people spontaneously outside of these scheduled baptismal services if they like but being "one steppers" we are not in fear of them being lost should they repent and come to the Lord then die before they are baptized.
Our young church ( 2 1/2 years old) was packed out at this AM service with standing room only. About 120 folks there. Should be around 60-80 at the second service I believe. Between the two services we are consistently running 150-200 people total each Sunday. We are about to have to go to a third Sunday service. A nice problem to have!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
