It is just as true in America if one stops to think about it. People who are black or of Hispanic descent are very fond of bright and bold colors, as a general rule. Those who are white tend to prefer colors not nearly so bold and clashing (unless you are a great aunt of mine who has been accused of being able to wearing everything in vibrantly clashing colors).
I like seing the pictures of people who are not from the American/Western European culture as they are so very different from ourselves.
