I find the argument of most Sunday worshipers disingenuous in that:
A. They try to assert that those who honor the Sabbath do not avail themselves of rest in Him daily. Or do not worship God every day.
B. They claim that they do not esteem Sunday above other days. I have found though the years in Catholic, Baptist, and Pentecostal churches that this is simply not true. The Christian church in the bible belt fought for years to maintain 'Blue Laws' to prevent shopping on Sunday. The reason? It was considered the Christian Sabbath. It is considered as a 'holy day' by most of ministry and laity alike across denominations.
There is a day that is set apart for the Lord. For rest from the daily cares of work, the very thing that tends to take our focus off of God. That day is Sabbath. Perhaps with our abundance of leisure time we can no longer see the benefits of Sabbath but anyone who asserts that life does not get in the way of fully devoting our minds and hearts to Him is not being completely honest.
While even Sabbath can not wipe away all cares, it can weekly remind us that God made time for us and we needs make time for Him. It has given me an opportunity to really examine what gets in the way of my prayer time and my private devotions. It allows me time in my prayer closet that rushing off to do the next required thing does not. Sabbath allows me to be still and know that He is God.
