Repentance, Holiness, and the Church

The call to repentance and holiness is no doubt reality. There is very little understanding of the love of God and a holiness lifestyle. When one EVEN MENTIONS HOLINESS on this forum they are AUTOMATICALLY considered to be a "standards" pusher".

I have always opposed the shallow type teaching that thinks to shave, take off a watch, and walk around in a suit and tie makes one holy. Yet the Spirit of Jesus requires FAR MORE than an outward conformity to a few little dress codes.

I have heard so many times the little cliche "we will be surprised to see everyone that will be in Heaven".

Jesus said FEW will enter into life. Why?

Because they will not do his will. They will not keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight. Matter of fact very many will fall away from Christ long before his coming. Since they have little regard or passionate love for the word of God he will not manifest himself to them. At least not in a large measure so they will get bored and walk away. It happens all the time.

Jesus is our bridegroom. He loves us. He wants our love to be fervent for him as his is for us. The first and great command "Love the Lord your God with ALL you heart, soul, mind, and strength says volumes.

Todays teaching of unconditional love has perverted the atmosphere for teaching Biblical truth.

Yet lovers of Jesus, those who are very passionate for a close walk with him will WANT to hear a deeper word. They will hunger and thirst for righteousness.
