Re: Debate, Argument, Christian Discussion?

So I found another forum (non-religious) where the people were friendly and helpful and we were even able to discuss religious issues with caring and compassion and I've mostly spent my internet time there discussing what interests me, God, family, farming, work, daily life to the tune of 5K posts or so.

I made a recent return to this forum looking for fellowship when departing my brick and mortar church and still find it sad that there is no place here that is not for debate and very few topics that do not wind up in unproductive argument with a few even disintegrating into outright put-downs and name calling. I really only ever read or post in the fellowship hall and even that is dicey.

I think most of what is said and done here is largely unproductive. No one is changing anyone's minds. But I too like some of the people here so like to stop in and see how they are doing and I hope that sharing about life in the country and farming lightens the mood around here some.
Ms Titus, rather than debate your thoughts I this (my view is that I can get what I want here other Pentecostals - Friendship, discussion, debate, chit-chat ) I would be interesting to find out how this might be a better experience for folks coming from your POV.

We want more involvement on AFF, but it must be across a wide and diverse spectrum.
