I'm driving a 98 Chevy Venture. Hubby drives a 95 Ford Ranger. Both are VERY good on gas...
If I remember correctly, Gas was $1.57 a gallon when I bought the minivan. It has DOUBLED....
I'm just praying the van holds up a while longer so that I don't have to start making payments again.
My daughter is graduating, and wants to go car shopping. I told her to go JOB HUNTING first.. I'd make sure she has transportation to the job. She can save up her money for several months and I know a great place she can get a very reasonably priced economy car. I'll help her out with insurance... but I think she needs the responsibility of learning to manage her own money. If she wants the car... let her work for it. I had to work for my first one.
