To say that a person believes because they are saved is unbiblical and has NO scriptural backing! WE MUST BELIEVE ON THE NAME OF JESUS IN ORDER TO BE SAVED!!!
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
