Yeah I have a BIG issue with overzealous altar workers....recently my wife and I were praying together up front and just in the middle of this massive personal cleansing and renewal....both of us were weeping and rejoicing and praying for 45 minutes to maybe an hour.....it was starting to lift leaving us both with this abiding peace when SHE came over....pawing over us and loudly cackling in tongues....now ive been in church all my life and this has happened several times....mostly when visiting other churches and they are unsure of your spiritual status and the interpret you going to the altar to pray as "Hes a sinner that needs Jesus"....Ive tolerated being "prayed through" and ive been bounced around...shaken....my chin jiggled u name it and ive played along cause I was kinda pressured....this time however I opened my eyes and kindly said "Thank you sis but im good.".....she redoubled her efforts trying to pull my wife into it saying "Will where are the tongues? Jesus wants to know why you arent letting him in and Katherine! Something is wrong with Will!".....No joke yall....I opened my eyes and looked her straight in the eyes and said "We have been speaking in tongues....weeping and praying for nearly an hour....we are fine"....She backed off.....ever since then I dont really go to the front....I just pray where I sit or in the aisle to avoid her.
