Those of you that have read my thread about the adversity our church faced this week with an arsonist attempting to burn the church down this past Monday night will appreciate this testimony.
Approximately quarterly we have a "Praise & Worship Night" on a Friday night that is 3-4 hours of praise & worship and then a baptismal service. The baptismal theme continues through the weekend with the church services sermon deviating from whatever book of the bible we are covering to a lesson on baptism.
For the very first time we had planned for this past Friday's Praise & Worship event to be outdoors at as location away from the church. It turned out this was a blessing as it gave us more time to recover from the fire and water damage at the church (mostly water damage from the sprinkler system).
Around 1,000 people showed up for our outdoor Praise & Worship night and 24 people were baptized then.
The 4 regular weekend services (Saturdays 5 pm & 7 pm and Sundays 9 am & 11 am) all featured the lesson on baptism and by the end of our last weekend service today we had baptized a total of 86 people in Jesus name!
A great way to end a week of adversity for our church. What the enemy meant for evil actually brought together our community as many other churches, government officials, etc all offered assistance and help and the distractions did not affect the move of God at our Praise & Worship event.
